About this event

Overview

This event will see the official launch of the RLUK-AHRC Research Engagement Programme (REP) in partnership with the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA).

The Research Engagement Programme is designed to support colleagues working across the research and academic library community to develop their research confidence, skills, and capability. It will include a tailored cohort training programme, events, case studies, and resources, and is a direct result of the findings and recommendations of a joint AHRC-RLUK scoping study (January-June 2021). The programme is open to colleagues working within both RLUK and non-RLUK libraries and further information about the scheme is available here.

  • Please note: the deadline for applications for the Research Catalyst Cohort Programme is 17.00 on 11th March 2022.

Events details

This event will provide further details about the Research Engagement Programme and will also feature a series of short case studies from research libraries regarding ‘what research means’ to them.

The event will provide an opportunity for colleagues working across the academic and research library community to discuss the role of libraries as partners in, and leaders of, academic and scholarly research.

The Research Catalyst Cohort Programme

It will also provide potential applicants to the Research Catalyst Cohort programme with an opportunity to ask any questions that they have about the programme and its application process ahead of the application deadline of 17.00 on 11th March 2022.

Please note: In order to be eligible to apply to join the Research Catalyst Cohort, at the point of application, applicants must:

  • Be employed by an academic or research library that belongs to a recognised UK Higher Education Institution (HEI), UK Independent Research Organisation (IRO), or is a member of Research Libraries UK (RLUK).
  • Have an existing employment contract that lasts at least until the end of the programme (February 2023) or is firmly expected to last until this point (for colleagues on contracts that are to be renewed).
  • Have the explicit support of their employer to undertake the programme and the commitment that their employer will allow them to dedicate sufficient time to the programme’s workshops, events, and discussions, including within work time, and to have sufficient capacity to realise its learning objectives.
